Wolverhampton North
This contemporary hilltop home is nestled into a wooded Huron River Watershed ravine. The main goals of the master plan were to 1) layout (deer tolerant) plant beds with enough substantial plant mass to fit the broad scale of the two story house and 2) to properly grade and provide a longterm draintile system that would relieve the site's wet lawn drainage conditions (due in large part to the heavy clay subsoil) and 3) create a focal boulder/water feature off of the existing patio and deck step areas.
Irregular bluestone steppers were added off the existing deck steps and patio as was a rear perimeter plant bed with placed boulders and night lighting. A large rain garden area was created off the existing patio to handle off-site surface runoff.
