To properly house a special collection of eclectic books from around the world, the East wing of the Ursinus College Library was renovated by nase Architects that is now known as the Eilts Collection.
This renovation, referred to by the Library Director as ‘fabulous’ and by its benefactor family as ‘a handsome space’; provides state of the art group and individual study space for 25 students, 300 open stack shelves for the circulating books, and another 16 custom designed temperature controlled curved Bookcases with LED lighting for the valuable rare-books included in the collection. The newly created vaulted space features general, ambient-mood up-lighting and task lighting.
