Hi, What a beautiful kitchen! Did you open up the ceiling or did you just add the wood slates? We are trying to get higher ceilings and have thought about opening ours up.

You're welcome!
Do you have any specifics on the size of your kitchen? This particular pendant comes in 14" and 17". We'd suggest 17" for more light distribution, but if you have a more compact space the 14" might fit better.

Our kitchen is small and with the shelves we hope to put on the wall near the pendant, we'll go with the smaller one. I'm seeing you are BLE, not the designer. Do you have any idea how I can find out about those shelves?? THanks so much!

Hi. I'm not sure where I got the stool, but I'm sure it was either an auction or garage sale.

Hi! The cabinets are from Ikea and came prefinished. The island is wrapped with pine boards and painted Behr's high gloss white straight out of the can. The color on the wall is Benjamin Moore's Dove White.

Hi, the countertops are dark grey corian. It does show scratches from everyday use, which I didn't realize until after we had it. Corian is nice, but keep in mind the lighter the color the less the scratches will show.

What Houzz contributors are saying:
Julie Ranee Photography added this to Holiday Decor Goes Fresh and Rustic
In our farmhouse kitchen, I chose red as an accent color to add a special holiday touch to our everyday look. For the island centerpiece, I put pieces of freshly cut pine branches around a vintage enamel pail filled with collected pinecones. Above the hood hangs a red holly wreath tied with a handmade burlap ribbon. Tip: To create a burlap ribbon for your own natural wreath, simply cut a narrow piece of burlap, which you can purchase at your local crafts store, and sew it on the sides to prevent fraying.
Laura Gaskill added this to 8 Ways to Really Slow Down and Savor the Holidays
3. List your favorite and least favorite things about the holidays. What is most meaningful and fulfilling to you? Which activities would you be really sorry to miss out on? By making sure that the most important things are on your schedule and given top priority, and letting go of things that you don't really care for, you can tailor your holidays to suit you. I had an idea that I would design my own family photo holiday cards, but I realized I would rather spend my time sipping cocoa by the tree, so I'm skipping it. No one else will know what they're missing!
Janell Beals - House of Fifty added this to Quick and Easy Christmas Decor With Greens, Wreaths and Pine Cones
Indoor wreathes and garlands. Thankfully, getting the interior set to welcome the holidays doesn’t require layers of decor. A cheerful berry wreath and a few red accessories are all it takes to make this kitchen feel festive.
