So there is a laminate covering on the cabinet doors? I completely thought that it was painted wood. I think that this looks great either way. I would love to be able to afford to put new cabinets in my kitchen. http://www.emeraldkitchens.ca/home.html

This is an interesting shape of a kitchen, but I must say I like it. It seems like there is a lot of good working space available to prepare meals. I also really like how the kitchen cabinets are large. That's nice when it comes to storage and organization.

Hi Tmcm, Oak and Board has got it right. It should be noted that we chose a particularly pale batch of spotted gum - this is not typical colouring.

I really love how natural the floors look. It's nice that they match the island and other features as well. My wife and I are planning on remodeling our kitchen and really want timber floors. Hi Hannah,

The tile is a handpainted morrocan cement tile. It has been sealed with a penetrative sealer to prevent staining.

The island’s counter is solid wood, and the counter along the wall is black laminate. The cabinets are a combination of blackbutt (a popular Australian hardwood in the eucalyptus family), veneer and black laminate. Brass and copper fixtures and fittings warm up the material palette. The kitchen cabinet handles are made of raw copper and were fabricated especially for this house. “We wanted to use copper to reference the external cladding, and we left it raw to patina over time along with the outside of the house,” says Fitzpatrick.
