DesignLine Home Transformations Traditional Kitchen, Richmond

Homeowner wanted more natural light in the kitchen. Eliminate the tight opening between the kitchen and family room. Create an elegant, clean, modern look with marble counter tops. Add more drawers and tall storage. Build the refrigerator into the wall cabinetry. Single window was replaced with a triple unit, allowing natural light to flow through kitchen. Under-cabinet LED lights installed for energy efficiency. Dove White cabinets coupled with Calcutta Gold marble and Crackle White subway tile brought all the elegance the homeowner wanted to achieve.

You may want to look at Bianca Romano, River White or Imperial White which are all granites. These all have richer color in them but can give the white tone. There is nothing that is going to look like marble unless you go with a Silestone Lyra or Cambria Torquay might work.

hi, what kind of range hood are you using? and can you let me know the distance between that and the top of the range? I bought a 30" wolf gas range and am looking for a similar hood.

Also, are the cabinets custom?

sadalja - Hood is by Wolf. Distances will differ but typical is maximum 30". Also depends on the CFM (cubic feet per minute) of the hood. We recommend consulting a professional in your area for specs.
Cabinets are custom and made by Elmwood Cabinetry in Canada.

Thank you for the question - we are the company that designed and built the kitchen. Yes they are polished with a pencil edge. Marble is a great product and there are many great sealers out there.

Thats on of the big advantages of site finishing a floor. You can add, repair, or replace portions later. No worries over if its been discontinued.

I agree with the above; the style of this kitchen really lends itself to the shutter choice. I think that with some simple modification or flexibility the sink shouldn't be too much of a problem. Good luck, beautiful kitchen!

They seem to still be the Amerock Rochdale collection but the cup pulls which are available as 3" or 3-3/4" on center. By the look of it the other cabinet pulls larger than 3" on center are probably the 5".

Thank you for you the question - the sink is a Kohler Indio under mount cast iron sink. The dimensions are 33"x21 1/8". I hope this answers your question.
