Is it a painting ? The lighting is very distinctive. We have a wide plank oak that looks similar, I really thought that was pine :-)

Greetings! To create the aged texture on the walls, pigment was added to the plaster and applied directly to the walls. The floors are reclaimed oak with an oil finish.

Too rustic? This made me think of the space and location of your kitchen JN: too rustic for me? DR: Ew. It feels like they made everything two or three degrees more complicated than it needs to be. For instance, I like the overall shape of the cabinet doors, but then they had to mess it up by adding those vertical strakes on the inset panels.
