I don't find it dim at all, but I do have full recessed lighting in the kitchen as well. I actually have this on a dimmer and sometimes have it turned down low when full kitchen lights are on. I've received a lot of compliments on it. I hope it works out for you!

We kept the countertops and cabinetry simple to offset the island and backsplash. If your backsplash is monochrome, I think it would work with the marinace!

Same color as the rest. To highlight the glass backsplash and the marinace, we didn't want another completing color in the kitchen.
