mango design co Contemporary Kitchen, Vancouver

mango design co provided interior design services to rize.ca for a multi-unit residential project at broadway & quebec street in vancouver.

this display suite shows a sample interior and eclectic interior styling to reflect the artistic bent of the mount pleasant neighbourhood.

while we wanted to keep things fresh & modern, shaker style cabinets were chosen to show some heritage roots.

furnishings from a number of local sources including design house, mint, fullhouse, bombast and attic treasures.

table & chair combination - this space is so inspiring that i keep revisiting it! i was looking at the table and chair combination and the table is 36" high. does that work with the chair height (sorry, i don't know the chair height)? if i were to add a bench to this, it would have be a custom-made higher bench?

thank you so much!! i had this table custom made at 30" ht so it works with standard height calligaris chairs.
I had thought to use the 36" ht table so it would double as a kitchen work surface, but felt it might overpower the living room seating area.
if you went with the 36" table, you would need counterheight stools.

I don't believe this one could be used as a real birdcage as it is painted wood... which is probably why it looks so nice! it was purchased in chinatown, vancouver at a shop that has long gone away...

thanks so much! I'm not sure what company the developer used to build the cabinetry but we spec'd a simple shaker style painted in Benjamin Moore 2121-10 Gray with a low sheen finish. The countertop is caeserstone 'blizzard'.

3. Keep track of multiple listings with a comparison checklist. When you are hitting half a dozen open houses in a single morning, they begin to run together. Keep pertinent info neatly sorted on a single checklist and snap a picture of each place to accompany it, if possible.
Laura Gaskill added this to 12 Tips for Living Well in Your Loft or Studio
9. Choose the right scale. Appropriately scaled furniture can make the difference between a space that feels awkward and one that feels comfortable and homey. In a small space, choose the largest pieces you can while allowing ample room to walk around them. Pieces that are too small will only feel uncomfortable. In a large space, go bigger with the furniture — but keep it human-scale. Some sofas and chairs on the market today are so humongous that an average person is swamped sitting in them!Work with an interior designer to select and arrange your furniture
Tiffany Carboni added this to Kick Back in Comfort in Your Own Kitchen Lounge
Choose a cohesive color palette. Charcoal painted kitchen cabinets create a furniture-like effect that complements the neutral pieces in this 6- by 15-foot space. The entire room is painted in Benjamin Moore's Cloud White. The media credenza and dining table, both from Design House, share the same blonde wood that helps to highlight the room's surrounding blue accents, while the Calligaris L'eau chairs don't try to compete with any of it.
Joanna Tovia added this to Empty Nesters: Some Upsides to Downsizing
It’s harder to have your own space. If you live with your partner, moving to a smaller abode means more time spent face to face. Retired empty nesters who’ve planned ahead do well to develop separate interests (to give each other space and things to talk about), as well as activities they like to do together (retirees who play together stay together). The upside: You may have a smaller home and fewer opportunities for time on your own, but you’ll also have fewer rooms that need cleaning.
