We updated this mid-century split level home by removing two dividing walls on the main floor, and completely opening up the kitchen to the family and dining room. Modern cabinetry and clean lines was warmed up with natural slate tile accents and a warm soapstone countertop. A large island helped to divide up the space, while providing plenty of additional storage.
