This kitchen remodel started with inspiration pictures showing contrasting black doors on white cabinets. The client was craving an updated look as well as improved functionality. An awkward peninsula had separated the kitchen from the breakfast area. We removed the peninsula and a small island to give the client an expansive kitchen. The island has a mitered, waterfall countertop and furniture-style legs. All of the appliances are paneled to keep the focus on the design details. Brushed brass hardware and light fixtures add a touch of warmth to the black and white palette. An unused fireplace in the adjacent family area was removed to make way for a 16 foot wide sliding door and an accent wall for the television. The end result is a kitchen that really functions, but also has lots of style and class.
