ABRAR RESIDENCE
The Abrar residence, originally built in 1989, is a colonial style home with an underutilized basement. The newly wed client wished to create an escape for themselves while staying close to the family.
Our design team took it upon themselves to create a unique modern Moroccan inspired oasis for the couple. Keeping the color palette bright and airy was essential to the project. Warm wood tones and natural stones were introduced to create a spa like environment in what was once a dark cellar.
The existing basment was reconfigured to create space for a master bedroom, a graciously sized walk in closet, a master bathroom fit to be in a spa, a seating area, a work station nestled underneath the new modern oak stairs/ bookshelf, and finally a laundry/ storage area.
Custom barn doors were crafted with the client’s names carved out in Arabic calligraphy. These doors marked where form and function came together along with the client’s love for each other did too.
