The residence originally built in 1900, was a colonial home with dated powder room and an inefficient first floor layout. Old pine plank floors had all the character without the practicality. Limited visual access to the manicured backyard made the kitchen area feel closed off.

Our design team took on the challenge to create a space that spoke to the classic roots of the house while bringing a fresh look to the powder room and kitchen area. A bright new barn door greets guest as soon as they enter the house. This door leads to the new powder room where the existing wood floors was reclaimed as the accent wall in the powder room. An interesting pattern on the floor compliments an over neutral pallet.

Moving into the kitchen, one now has an unobstructed view of the backyard through the large full lite door. A perfect place for the client’s dog to take an afternoon nap while guarding his snacks stored on the custom wood shelves.
