This house was originally a 1 story, 1300 sf home. The front wall of the house and porch remained while the rest of the house was completely demolished and expanded back into the yard and up to a new 2nd story with large master suite looking out over the backyard to the Santa Monica Mountains. The newly designed home is now 3 bedrooms, 3 baths and is just over 2500 sf. The owner requested a traditional exterior with a warm interior space that had Tuscan influences. This was accomplished with the use of arches and rich tones throughout the family room and breakfast area while keeping the adjacent kitchen light and bright. The owner wanted the bathrooms to each have their own style and color palette while maintaining a transitional feel. The laundry room was a place where a touch of whimsy was added with the cheerful tile backsplash to make the mundane laundry chore more enticing. The master suite finishes were designed to be transitional compliments to the owners existing four-poster bed and furniture.
