Aman 21

Aman 21’s site posed several design challenges from the outset. A rock-lined ravine that courses through the property dictated the orientation of the structure, while a steep slope influenced the design’s layout. By orienting the structure at a ninety-degree angle to the other villas but squarely to the ravine, architects chose to focus on rather than turn away from the site’s defining—yet challenging—features. Likewise, by using the slope to their advantage, architects were able to create intimacy in a private courtyard positioned on the residence’s uphill side. The project takes advantage of great solar exposure and fantastic view corridors.
