My client bought this house and wanted to make it into a home suitable for everyday living and entertaining. She wanted a first floor "Ms. suite" so that she can age in place. We took down some interior walls and reconfigured the rest of the space to provide a bedroom, bathroom, and walk-in closet on the first floor, with an open kitchen and great room on the back of the house. We also converted the open second floor into a loft office space and a second bedroom and bathroom (not shown in the photos). Finally, Michigan winters dictated that we add a single-car garage to the side of the house.
