Architectural Challenges – Bath
An extremely small bathroom with a slanted ceiling included a max ceiling height of 6’5” (our client is 6’2”!) and almost no storage space. Our clients looked to us to create a bathroom with as much storage as possible and a spa-like feel. To further complicate our design plans, a mysterious soffit running the length of the bathroom proved to cover a structurally non-negotiable beam. The finished design included installation of floor-to-ceiling cherry cabinetry, granite counters and hand-poured, tumbled-glass tile accents. Exposing the structural beam added warmth and created a perfect space for a wall-length teak bench, completing the day-spa aesthetic.
