Converted Warehouse Condos

The Gallery Lofts is a 1920s furniture warehouse, now converted into luxury loft condos. Each unit is unique, with exposed infrastructure and layouts differing from unit to unit. Prior to our design, the common spaces—encompassing the lobby and elevator, as well as the stairwell and halls of each floor—lacked character and color. Our goal was to elevate these spaces to reflect the exceptional character of these high-end lofts located in a prime location.
Our design concept was inspired by the name of the building and distinct nature of the units. Gallery Lofts: unique, remarkable, expressive homes. We chose the Benjamin Moore Affinity collection, which allowed us to create a sophisticated and soothing, yet playful, palette.
To keep it fun and artistic, we chose a different color for each floor’s interior accent walls. These accent colors are extended into the stairwell, which residents frequently use instead of the elevators. As you ascend from one floor to the next, you see complimentary colors together, while the solid neutrals chosen for floor, trim and walls. The final touch in the space, color photography of Chicago scenes, was selected to compliment the wall color on each floor.
