With a need to organize and rejuvenate, our client looked to Bon Brise to define a new look throughout his Chicago lakefront condo. Our client wanted a space that featured his favorite color, blue, used several pieces of furniture inherited from his parents, and made the most of art and mementos collecting during his travels. Starting with this, Bon Brise designed a space to work with our client’s lifestyle. We determined the best new layout of the condo, which involved moving and removing walls to create a more open look, particularly in the kitchen, dining room and guest bath. For the kitchen and dining room, we chose two tones for the cabinetry to add interest; and added a vibrant and lively backsplash of varying metals. We extended this cabinetry into the adjacent dining room, thus joining the two rooms to make the space feel larger. In the living room, we chose a palette of blues in varying pattern and textures, and in the den, used a complimentary mustard color for the accent wall. The two bathrooms featured beautiful handmade tile that creates an elegant yet lively feel. We completed the look by placing the client’s artwork, and choosing some new art where needed, for an energetic, cohesive feel throughout this lakefront condo.
