Art Studio New Construction
This is an art studio I designed and built for my wife, who is a paper artist. The roof is a Hyperbolic Paraboloid or more commonly known as a Saddle Roof. The South East corner of the roof flips up to allow the early morning sun to warm the concrete floor slab. The West face of the building is shaded in the summer by a large Box Elder tree that keeps it from overheating in the afternoon. Inside is a simple open space that allows flexibility for my wife to produce her art work as well as in the spring it is used to as a greenhouse to start seedlings for our garden. I have also designed a tiny house interior that could work in this shell.
