Back to the Future
This vintage duplex in Lincoln Park was reimagined for a young, modern family with deep Chicago roots. Originally compartmentalized and closed off from its lakefront views, the home was thoughtfully transformed to reflect a more contemporary lifestyle—one centered around light, connection, and adaptability.
Walls were removed and key spaces repositioned, most notably relocating the kitchen to the front of the home to capture natural light and lake vistas. Custom millwork, concealed doors, and layered materials balance functionality with restraint, allowing each space to feel both elegant and livable. From the tailored closets to the hidden powder room, every detail was designed for clarity and calm.
The result is a home that honors its historic architecture while stepping boldly into the present—rooted in family life, framed by craftsmanship, and built to evolve.
