Bay Village Residence

Charlie and Raeleen Yoon contacted us after they saw that we were awarded with the Best of Boston Home 2012 for Color Consultants. What started off as a paint and wallpaper transformation for their entire home, quickly grew into a small, yet passionate design project of ours.
We gave a light design make over to their Entry Way, Family Room, Dining Room, Guest Bedroom and the Master Bedroom. However, when it came to both of their children’s bedrooms, we were asked to reinvent them completely.
For their youngest, Brady, we created a Race Car themed room. The duvet cover was custom made and resembles a deconstructed checkered flag, and contrasts beautifully against the bright and bold jewel toned colors throughout the room. We designed a built-in book shelf, and added a shelf in the dormant fireplace. Brady operates at a constant 60 mph, and the Yellow ceiling was a reminder to slow down and take it easy.
Kendall is the complete opposite of Brady and is cool, calm, and collected. She’s a proud book worm & violinist and when it came to personalizing her room, we were inspired by a series of books she favored, about a young mermaid on a journey of self-discovery. Brad painted the exact art work from one of the covers of the books, above Kendall’s bed, and added additional elements of sea life, such as the sting ray on the ceiling.
The Yoons have since moved to Larchmont, NY, a suburb of NYC, and have hired us once again. But this time, the project is gigantic and the budget is just as big. Their new home is 110 years old, 6,000 Sq Ft and has been completely gutted. Like the Ganz’s project, we’ve designed the entire residence using only the architect’s blueprints. They’ve allowed us to design the home of our dreams, for our preferred aesthetic is nearly identical. We’re very excited to get their project to cross the finish line by late Spring 2017.
