Fay St. Project, Boston, Ma.
Nicole Rhode, the head baker with Flour Bakery came to us when the opportunity to re-invent her SoWa loft presented itself through an unforeseen circumstance. After some pipes burst in her unit, causing water damage and necessitating a new paint job, she called us to help choose a new color palette suited to her small living space, and to help make that space more refined and multi-functional.
Nicole’s home was heavily furnished with family heirlooms which had great bones but simply needed a new lease on life, which we re-invented with Kravet fabrics (and a helping hand in the upholstery department from Skyler Joshi’s father). Her collection of vintage bric a brac and her career as a pastry chef immediately brought to mind visions of Paris, and a Parisian flea market vibe is ultimately came to fruition through the mix of textiles, antique wood, and a moody color palette. By re-imagining the floor plan in her 900 sq ft space, we were able to give her a small space to host dinner guests, a priority for her lifestyle.
Nicole’s home was featured in the Dec. 28, 2012 issue of The Phoenix, Now & Next: Reside
