Wellesley, Ma. Residence

Like the Yoons, Rob and Evelyn Marsh originally hired us as their color consultants and painters for their new home in Wellesley. We instantly hit it off with the Marshs, gaining their trust with our daring choice of paint colors and placement, and were soon hired to completely design their Dining Room, Formal Living Room, Entry Way, and their Guest Bedroom. What made is project challenging, is that their all in budget was $25,000 for all 4 rooms. Normally we would shy away from such a humble budget, but because of our “like energies” with the Marsh’s, we enthusiastically rose to the challenge.
With an affinity for Mid-Century Modern design, we took the opportunity to utilize several on-line only resources including One Kings Lane, Gilt, and Thrive Furniture, and vendors such as Blu Dot and Bo Concept to achieve a look that was a departure from the homes of their more traditional Wellesley neighbors.
With pops of turquoise and orange the dining room is an inviting, as opposed to hands-off, space to host family gatherings. The formal living room was outfitted with a bench seat sofa from Gilt.com, and a pair of chairs were re-upholstered with a luxe chain link velvet. Sculptural brass accessories adorn the walls and bookshelves, giving the room a curated salon-like quality.
The most whimsical room in the home is the guest bedroom, completely wallpapered in Cole & Sons’ iconic Woods paper for a pop-art lodge feel. Juicy jewel tones temper the graphic black and white and a citrus armchair in a cozy nook provides visitors the ideal spot to bundle up with a good book.
