Beautiful Basement Transformation

This basement was transformed into a beautiful livable space for the family! The existing basement had extreme elevations in the concrete flooring, making it impossible to properly install flooring. The basement floor was excavated and a new concrete flooring was poured. A concrete wall was also removed to create an open concept space, which involved putting in steel beams to reinforce the structure. This basement features a family room, office, laundry room, and three-piece bathroom.

This cozy family room features plush carpet and a contemporary gas fireplace drywall surround with a floating oak mantel.

There was a concrete wall that would've blocked the view of the fireplace and windows. Therefore, the concrete wall was removed and reinforced with steel beams.

The dark plush carpet and light wall colours create a nice contrast.

A contemporary drywall surround with a floating oak mantel was created for the gas fireplace, allowing enough room for a TV to be installed above the mantel.

This room was cleaned up (which involved removing a concrete water well) to transform this room into a comfortable office space.

Plush carpet was installed on the stairs and stringers. An oak stair railing was also installed and stained to match the floating oak mantel on the fireplace.

A new staircase was installed with plush carpet on the stairs and stringers.

Instead of removing the concrete walls where the bathroom and laundry room were going to be, they were framed and drywalled around. Dark gray glazed porcelain subway tiles were installed in the hallway, laundry room, and bathroom.

The white vanity and white framed mirror nicely contrast the dark gray tiled floors and shower walls.

Dark gray glazed porcelain 12"x24" tiles were installed on the three shower walls and in the shower niche. This alcove shower also features a Caml-Tomlin shower base and glass doors.
