Bel Air | Addition + Major Remodel

Midcentury modern remodel and addition of Family Room and Master Suite, with complete exterior aesthetic alteration. Full height openings accentuate the horizontal floating planes, paired with vertical architectural gestures to make each more evident in their contrast. Strategic placement of full height exterior openings intentionally frames the surrounding nature and draws it into the home as an extension of the atmosphere.

Our client requested an expanded floor plan to accommodate a family room. In our planning exercise we chose to use the addition as a wing extending along and connecting to the upper yard to provide more privacy. Large pocket sliding doors open the space and allow for natural ventilation.

A master bedroom addition extending toward the front yard leading to a terraced, upward stepping yard. The master features a walk-in closet, master bathroom and large glazed openings feeling as if the bedroom is with a garden. Architectural accent walls offer detail to the space.
