Blue English Kitchen

Blue is a home decor favorite, although a kitchen with blue cabinetry is rarely done. English influences were added like the oversized cabinetry stiles and rails, a large wood mantle hood and “X’ mullion glass doors, a “butlers style” hutch, the kitchen is timeless. Hand-painting the cabinetry makes a color change in years to come or touch up quite easy. Calcutta Gold marble was used countertops and an thick wood cutting board was integrated for practical everyday use for prep. The kitchen and island have storage galore.

As a designer dealing with renovating existing homes, it’s often necessary to break some tired design rules to achieve the best possible result with what we have to work with.

Adding on to this already large home wasn’t unnecessary, however, the narrow space of the existing kitchen presented quite a challenge. Even the contractor was amazed with solution.

Fortunately the space widened as you move through the kitchen toward the eating area that holds a large round table (a favorite of mine for friendly dining) and the family room full of French doors and windows Light always makes a space feel happy and full of life.
The narrow island in the kitchen opens up as the room widens allowing for an wide angled eat up area as a natural extension of the island.
Project Cost: $150,001 - $200,000
