White Kitchen with Mixed Materials
Challenged to create a gorgeous and highly functional working kitchen for a young New York family within the walls of the existing space. After interviewing my client and hearing how much they love spending time at their rustic cottage in Maine, I decided their new Pound Ridge kitchen should be a perfect mix of old and new as well as a blend of earthy and sophisticated materials. The kitchen boasts plenty of wonderful countertop space for all the cooks in the family as well as a "breakfast area" that houses under-counter Subzero refrigerator/freezer drawers for morning staples like waters, juice, fruit, yogurts and milk. The cabinet that sits on the counter above has handy pocket doors when opened reveal a small microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker as well as an assortment of breakfast bowls, juice glasses and other items needed at the dining table close by.
