Custom Range Hood with Brass Detailing

For this Briarcliff home, A+V Design Group crafted a custom range hood surround to complement the existing kitchen cabinetry. The commission brought together precise fabrication, specialist brass work, and a carefully matched painted finish, with the goal of making the new hood look original to the kitchen.

THE BRIEF
The hood needed to accommodate an existing vent while matching the surrounding cabinetry as closely as possible. Its fit, metal detailing, and finish all had to contribute to a seamless appearance.

THE CHALLENGE
Beyond the visual match, the fabrication process had to account for the heat and moisture associated with cooking. Particular attention went to the adhesive used for the metalwork and the painted finish, with resistance to peeling a key consideration.

OUR APPROACH
We built the custom surround around the existing vent and worked with our team's specialist metal artisan on the brass detailing. A custom paint finish tied the piece to the established cabinetry, while careful coordination between fabrication, metalwork, and finishing brought the separate elements together.

THE RESULT
The completed hood integrates cleanly into the kitchen, pairing refined brass details with a finish tailored to its surroundings. The project shows how a focused custom commission can enhance an existing space through close attention to fit, materials, and craftsmanship.
