Bridlemile Midcentury

Bridlemile is a single-story, mid century, ranch style, home located in SW Portland. This home was originally built in 1958 and was featured in Better Homes and Gardens in 1968. In 1995 the house was remodeled and the master bedroom and bath reconfigured. The latest owners loved the mid-century feel of the house but wanted to bring the house back to the feel of the Better Homes and Gardens condition and not so much the more recent remodel. Being cooks, they wanted the kitchen to be full-functioning and retain the big island feel. The majority of the walls and ceilings have been brought back to a walnut wood finish. The walnut wood highlights the smooth white quartz counter tops, which accent the natural lighting in floor to ceiling windows and open-beam ceilings. With recessed and hanging lighting in brass metal, the light accents further give nod to this mid century history.
