Brookline Backyard
Clients desired a laid-back family gathering space with dining and fire pit areas as well as plantings and an area for vegetable growing in raised garden beds. Local Massachusetts Goshen stone was used for the dry laid (no mortar) retaining wall and patio, as well as fieldstone boulders and steppers throughout. A pollinator-friendly native & drought-tolerant planting was installed around the vegetable area, and stone stile steps lead to a small path up to the vegetable garden terrace. The fire pit utilizes a boulder as the backing. A Goshen stone side path leads through a side small shade garden. Green City Growers built the raised vegetable beds. The lawn uses a microclover blend for organic care and lower maintenance.
