Buffalo Grove Refined
The homeowners in this Buffalo Grove, Illinois home were excited to finally remodel their outdated, 30-year-old White Melamine kitchen. The peninsula in the original design disrupted the flow from the kitchen to the dining area and the cabinetry felt institutional and cold. The homeowners desired an open concept kitchen and casual dining space with a warm, inviting feel. We eliminated the peninsula and added an island with seating for two under delicate pendant lights, creating a smooth flow to the breakfast room. We removed a half wall that separated the kitchen/breakfast room and family room, opening up the entire area into a new great room concept. Beautiful raised-panel Cherry full overlay cabinetry by Holiday Kitchen with contemporary style brushed nickel hardware by Hafele, blend perfectly with the medium-toned oak flooring in a warm glow. The homeowners selected a glass and stone mosaic tile backsplash in a muted palette that perfectly complements the granite countertops. New stainless steel appliances including Kitchen Aid double ovens, Kitchen Aid French door style refrigerator, a Sharp microwave oven drawer and a Wolf cooktop complete the functionality the homeowners desired, balanced by the warm, inviting décor. A stunning, lighted Butler’s Pantry with glass doors provides for lovely display and convenient service area between the kitchen and formal dining room. The homeowner’s love their brand new kitchen and how it coordinates with their family room and entire first floor of their home!
