Builder Basic Becomes Transitional Dream Home

This project focused on transforming a builder basic home into a refined, design driven space with a modern transitional aesthetic. Our goal was to elevate the overall look and feel while maintaining a sense of warmth, comfort, and livability for everyday life.

In the kitchen, we worked with the existing cabinetry and enhanced the space by introducing two strong focal points. The island was elevated with a petrified wood finish, adding depth and organic texture, while the vent hood was refinished in plaster to create a clean, architectural statement. We also updated the island lighting with fixtures that are properly scaled to the space and aligned with the overall design, bringing balance and visual impact.

The open concept living areas were thoughtfully layered to create a cohesive and inviting environment. In the family room, we transformed the fireplace wall by adding stacked stone, turning a previously flat sheetrock surface into a striking focal feature. A textured wallpaper was incorporated on the television wall to add subtle dimension and warmth without competing with the main focal point.

In the entry, we created a strong first impression by combining wallpaper and vertical wood slats, introducing both texture and architectural interest. These layered elements set the tone for the rest of the home and establish a sense of intentional design from the moment you walk in.

Throughout the home, we balanced clean lines with rich materials and layered textures to create a space that feels both elevated and approachable. Through our full service design build approach, we guided the project from concept through construction and final installation, delivering a seamless experience and a finished home that feels cohesive, curated, and distinctly custom.
