Capitol Hill Condo Conversion
This nine unit apartment building was converted into condos. Updating the cabinets, finishes, fixtures, flooring and appliances were key. However, eliminating the overhead kitchen cabinets and supporting walls made the biggest impact as the space instantly felt twice as large.
The bathrooms incorporated natural stone accents with porcelain tiles, simple clean fixtures and oval mirrors. Each bank of units was treated slightly different for added interest and personality.
Three schemes were developed based on the layout of the building and the amount of natural light available to those units. The darkest unites received the lightest paint color, materials, and cabinetry finish while the brightest bank of units had richer wall color and a darker cabinetry finish.
Community spaces such as the entry and hallways were also addressed with a multi-colored commercial grade carpet, new light fixtures, and a color scheme differentiating each level. The exterior was also revamped with bold colors coordinating with the interior package, a new awning, and lighting.
