Francis Residence
First we gave the whole home a fresh coat of paint, with a bright accent color in the living/dining room. A custom built fireplace incorporated a reclaimed wormwood mantel. Mosaic tile was added to the upper wall creating a stunning floor to ceiling focal point. Then we tackled the kitchen. By removing a closet we opened up the view corridor allowing natural light from the deck to filter deeper into the living/dining space. One of the challenges was saving the bamboo flooring as we wanted to retain the original patina. We salvaged pieces from other areas and feathered it into the new kitchen layout. By removing the peninsula and upper cabinets and adding a large island with an eating bar, we really opened up the whole space creating a better connection with the living/dining room. The vintage rug runner was the perfect piece, tying colors, spaces, and the clients style together.
