Castleton Residence

This gorgeous residence is the first insulated rammed earth building in Ontario. It is so energy efficient it takes the equivalent of 25 tea candles per 20kW/h/m2 to heat. As you can see from the photos, rammed earth is not only energy efficient but beautiful. The walls will last hundreds of years without maintenance. Now that is sustainable!

Winter light cascades onto the rammed earth wall. In the evening it is re radiated back into the room. Custom Cabinet divides the space and displays the owners treasures. The art was a gift and the wall was custom built to suit the painting. Both are a work of art.
