Long Island Hot Tub specializes in portable spas, but we are frequently asked to do a custom project. Originally, the owners of this 8’x10’ custom vinyl in-ground spa/waterfall were interested in having a water feature -- possibly a fish pond and waterfall -- in their backyard. However, they later decided to have us install a beautiful pond-sized spa, as a place to soak and relax, even in winter.

There is no doubt that sitting or strolling beside one’s own backyard fish pond is a very relaxing experience. You can stop and mediate, watch the fish as they swim about, and dine ‘al fresco’ next to such a peaceful setting. However, if you have to choose between watching something that is relaxing, and actually experiencing the healing massage jets of hydrotherapy, the decision was a no brainer for these clients.

Once the clients let go of their initial idea of a fish pond and waterfall, we designed and built this spa, with a therapeutic raised waterfall, that would massage their shoulders as they sit in warm bubbling waters. The spa allows for a year-round experience -- something a larger swimming pool would not. Its vinyl padding is also extremely comfortable.

All our hard work and imagination paid off when our company proudly accepted a Gold Medal in the 2005 Northeast Pool and Spa Association’s Design Awards and a Silver Medal in the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals 2005 International Award of Excellence for this project.
