Hot Tubs 101

As hot tubs grow in popularity, some of us sit quietly, eyes fixed on the floor, when others chat about their hot tub experiences. If you’ve never been in one, say at a hotel, or at an overseas resort, or at a friend’s backyard — and you’d like to know what all the hoopla is about — here’s some basics:

A hot tub, which is sometimes called a home spa, and by the trade name Jacuzzi, is a large tub or water-filled enclosure that is heated and maintained at a desirable temperature. Made for relaxation and hydrotherapy, because most have massage jetted therapy, they are popular with people of all ages.

Hot tubs are generally located outdoors, sometimes under a canopy or gazebo, and can accommodate multiple users, depending upon their size. They are somewhat comparable to swimming pools as far as upkeep and maintenance, but those not customized in-ground are on a much smaller scale and can be moved when empty.

Maintenance
Hot tubs are not drained after use, and must be routinely treated. Sanitation chemicals keeps them free of microorganisms. Here’s a video on the chemicals Long Island Hot Tub recommends for our Bullfrog Spas, and when and how to use them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6RYz4K1tQ8

We specialize in Bullfrog Spas because of their patented interchangeable JetPak Therapy System and because a Bullfrog Spa is completely customizable and upgradeable. However, we are also expert at custom in-ground spas and custom installations of portable spas.
