Classic Craftsman Kitchen and Bath, renovation

A turn-of-the-century home is under-going a complete renovation/restoration using authentic and reproduction lighting, flooring, wallpapers, fixtures, etc. The kitchen and small, adjacent half bath were the areas I was asked to assist in making design suggestions. The client chose plan C and proceeded with their contractor and making color and finish selections.
Since the drawings, the client has made a few modifications-like installing a longer, thinner island with seating at the end instead of the side.

To create a more functional kitchen with adequate counter space, a door to the basement was relocated to the dining room. This change allowed for a better use of space. The clients really wanted an island with seating and all the typical modern kitchen appliances and amenities.

These elevations show the two walls of the L-shaped kitchen and the island front and back. Also drawn are the views into the kitchen from the dining room (North) and the family room (West).
