Fuze Kitchen and Bar, renovation
A new dining experience in downtown Kalamazoo, "stimulating all the senses with food and drink in a relaxed, upscale, funky atmosphere", says the Fuze website.
The space was an eatery prior to the new establishment, but a complete aesthetic change was in order. The space is very deep and narrow and was divided with a non-load bearing wall that was removed. The bright, custom painted mandala draws the eye into the space with touches of interest all the way in. At the opposite end is the entry and tall arched windows that let in the only natural light off the street. Immediately you see the beautiful copper top bar that was retained and refinished. The exposed kitchen allows diners to experience the sights, sounds, and aromas of the many amazing dishes being prepared. The ceilings and trim were painted out with black. The original brick walls now feature rotating art from local artists. The existing fireplace was completely remodeled with sleek new tile. New flooring, custom booth seating, updated lighting, and restroom remodeling round out the project.
