A sense of fun and carefree charm help define this country home, which demonstrates my love of blending modern and traditional. As a counterbalance to the owner’s Manhattan residence—which is quite urban and includes a lot of gray—we peppered bright colors and bold patterns throughout this weekend retreat. The colors, like muted lavender and coral, were carefully chosen to be energetic while maintain an elegance and sophistication as a backdrop to the modern light fixtures and crisp furniture silhouettes.
