Georgian Stone Estate
A bold, gallery-like space, with a focus on dark-and-light contrasts, was the goal for this 9000-square-foot Georgian colonial. The homeowners wanted tailored, well-designed rooms with a look that was elegant and contemporary, without feeling cold. I used a subdued color palette in grays, camels, and deep blues, along with contemporary furnishing to convey relaxed intimacy throughout the home. To incorporate the family’s art collection, I placed pieces strategically throughout and designed a gallery on the second-floor landing. I wanted the furniture pieces to be sculptural and pop just as much as their artwork, as evident in the entry foyer.
