A family of five, whom after living abroad for many years return to the states and purchase a home they quickly nicknamed "The Warehouse". The house had sat untouched for years. This 6,000+ sq foot house was crying for attention. The home owner reached out to me for assistance. With only a single sentimental piece of furniture, a secretary desk belong to her mother, I set the wheels in motion to create a fresh yet traditional home. Architecturally the home has European styling with "Normandy" nuances. Interesting niches and arched windows were architectural markers. The back entrance was a blank space and the client wanted a proper "Mud Room" where her children could unload school books and backpacks. I designed cabinetry to be the work horse that it is. The center hall received an uplift with Bird & Thistle wall covering. The dining room furniture was existing so adding a luxurious rug, window treatment and grass cloth helped "pull it together", Accessories and Art add an important element of personal expression. Paint, wall covering, lighting, custom built-in's, area rugs & custom furnishing were specified to turn "The Warehouse" into a home.
