Creating A Wine Cellar/Pantry

If you ever thought your pantry was boring, wait until you see what a little imagination and terrific design can do. Maple, furniture grade cabinets were installed to house everything from spices, canisters and wine.

Watch how we turned this ordinary pantry into a fabulous butler's pantry. The square door was reframed into an arch and the walls are scratch coated in preparation for the stone veneer. The maple cabinets are already in place to give a built in appearance.

Our expert tile mason and owner carefully cuts and places the corner stones to house modern conveniences such as a light switch.

Here is the inside of the arch where the corner stones meet. It was a tedious process making sure each stone fit together with a snug, cohesive look.

The grouting phase of the project. By hand, using a large pastry bag for cement, each grout joint is carefully filled and scraped clean.

These cherry stained cabinets look beautiful against the stone veneer inside the pantry. Inside is plenty of storage the homeowner requested for spices, oils and baking items. A granite counter was added for storage and beauty.

A look at the granite topped buffet. There is ample storage underneath in the open shelves. Everything is built in with the stone surround including a chalk board for leaving messages on.

The main shelves of the pantry beautifully display food, cookbooks and serving pieces. The stone surrounds the cabinets to mimic the walls of a wine cellar.
