Custom Hand Painted Mural

A client called on us to help them decorate a half wall in their newly renovated transitional kitchen. The challenge of finding a perfect framed art that would work with the combination of an awkward asymmetric wall and a large pendant bronze light proved not easy.

Our custom wall design turned out to be a perfect solution.

During the initial consult, we discovered the clients' passion for French culture and their vision for a chic kitchen that is classy yet comfortable and inviting, a social hub for friends & family, a space for enjoying a good time sharing food, drinks and stories.

We wanted to create an elegant design that would
harmonize the asymmetry in the wall,
draw attention away from the protruding triangular volume on the underside of the stairs,
create horizontal eye movement, tying the banquette with the rest of the kitchen,
and establish a subtle yet sophisticated focal point that fits the clients' vision perfectly.

Taking inspiration in French culture, we chose a Burgundy wine glass and a fruit bawl as symbols of joie de vivre, abundance and inviting vibes. We painted the dark triangle on the left side in white to match the ceiling and minimize the visual presence of the protruding triangular volume. Combining simple graphic silhouettes of the two objects in harmonizing colour palette, we created a wall design that pulls the space together and, in our opinion, elevates the kitchen with a touch of sophistication, Frenchness and inviting vibes.
