In Situ Wall Sculpture + Mural
Project Goal
The client brought us to solve a decorating challenge in her penthouse in Yaletown, Vancouver.
She wanted to personalize & beautify a double-height staircase wall with a contemporary custom work of art inspired by her individuality.
Our Process
During the discovery meeting, the client shared with us many fond experiences and memories of her living in San Diego, where she witnessed a solar eclipse & enjoyed morning jogs along the sandy beaches. These memories inspired a monochrome composition of a wall sculpture + mural - a shaped painted wood panel in the upper right corner of the wall - reminiscent of the solar eclipse - set in shallow relief against a minimal mural - evocative of ocean waves.
