The goal for the concept of the remodel of this private residence in Dallas, TX, was: to amplify the modernity of the design: create a stronger relationship with the natural amenities of the site and adjacent lake; add regional character; and increase the sustainable elements. These goals were met through the use of Texas limestone, which fits into the overall context while providing an element of warmth and comfort.
As the owner of the home and a principal at HKS, Inc., one of the leading international proponents of sustainability in commercial architecture, it was important to reflect the company’s values in the design of this addition.
