Dellwood
Over the past ten years, I have worked closely with my clients, gradually reimagining their home one room at a time. The original kitchen featured a traditional layout, nestled between the family room and dining room. Previously, a round breakfast table and chairs occupied the space, but to enhance functionality, we replaced them with upper and lower cabinetry for optimized storage. To create a more open and spacious feel, we removed the kitchen wall between the family room, expanding the kitchen’s footprint.
Key design highlights include a custom architectural metal range hood, elegant glass-paneled upper cabinets, and spice utility pull-out drawers conveniently placed beside the range. Lower cabinetry now features deep drawers, ensuring easy access to kitchen essentials such as dinnerware, cookware, and linens. For added texture and visual interest, we installed large-format Sonoma subway tile up to the ceiling, creating a timeless backdrop.
The overall design embraces a light, airy palette, complemented by a striking navy island accent. Durable and low-maintenance quartz countertops were an essential choice, balancing style with practicality. And, of course, the family dog, enjoys every inch of the beautifully refinished hardwood floors.
