When it is time to invest in a custom cabinet, whether it is a dining cabinet, built-ins or library cabinets, it is worth the effort to be certain of that your needs are. How much storage is necessary and what items do you want to showcase? When I took on that exercise with my own dining room cabinet, I took the time to go through my existing things that required some exact measuring. Once the design was completed the next thing I wanted to be sure in was the scale of this piece, so I took painters tape and started to scale it out on my wall to see if I could live with it. Image having something delivered and installed and it did not fit? or you imaged it would be bigger than it was. That moment is not a very good feeling and a very costly mistake.
