This rambling, barnlike cottage was built in 1940 by Isaac Jenkinson Frazee, an early Laguna artist & resident. In the 75 years prior to my purchasing the property it had never been on the market; it always had changed hands privately. While the bones of the property were solid, it had fallen into disrepair. The central barnlike living room is the heart of the home and remains much as it was originally, while the kitchen and bathrooms were remodeled and the windows and all plumbing & electrical systems were replaced. My goal for this project was to restore the home to how it would have felt in 1940, while making it work well for a modern family.
