THIS HOME’S STORY
This cute ensuite ¾ bath was no longer being used by the family as the plumbing leaks had gotten so egregious. Our clients determined to wait on the repair of this bathroom until they were ready to remodel a large portion of their home.
Our clients’ goals: Repair water and plumbing leaks, increase the size of the shower for their tall family and update the finishes with durable, leak-resistant materials. During our design and pre-construction phase, our Master Certified Kitchen and Bathroom Remodel expert collaborated with our homeowner to develop a plan to meet their goals. A larger shower, with increased ceiling height and durable tile finishes with the same tile extending out of the shower for wainscot on all walls, kept the design open, cohesive, and durable. During the renovation, we addressed all plumbing issues and were able to accomplish their goals.
THE PRETTY STUFF
Crisp white elongated subway tile provides a timeless look for this 1950’s home. The smooth pebble tile, selected to bring in texture and depth was a minimal splurge, for both the bathroom and shower floors. The soft green hue of the walls adds the perfect finishing touch to coordinate a soothing, nature-inspired, modern feel and texture for the space.
To balance the crisp white tile, we decided to add texture by mixing metal finishes. The majority are black, but the mirror frame and light fixture have a brushed gold finish to soften the crisp glass. For the mirror, we decided to oversize it and maximize most of the wall space above the pedestal sink and toilet. This helps the space feel deeper upon entry and provides additional lighting through that which reflects from the mirror.
This cute ¾ ensuite bath is a breath of fresh air, with an open shower, stylish finishes, and plumbing supply lines that can be trusted to last for many years to come.
